Telecentre-Europe Award Winners 2012

Telecentre-Europe is very pleased to announce the winners of its Awards Competition 2012:

• Learn More about ICT Network (Denmark) – FIRST PRIZE of 1200€ (ex aequo with Serbia)
• International Aid Network (Serbia) – FIRST PRIZE of 1200€ (ex aequo with Denmark)
• Langas į ateitį (Lithuania)– SECOND PRIZE of 1000€
• Stiftung Digitale Chancen (Germany) – THIRD PRIZE of 800€

We want to thank all applicants for their enthusiast participation and outstanding digital inclusion efforts, achievements and best practices. The Award Ceremony took place at the Telecentre-Europe Summit in Warsaw on October 17th, 2012 at 19h30.

Telecentre-Europe launches Awards for its Most Outstanding Members

After a first run in 2011, a new Telecentre-Europe Awards competition (#TEA12) was launched on September 20, 2012.

This year, the competition is open only to Telecentre-Europe’s official Member Organizations and will be an ideal opportunity to celebrate the outstanding digital inclusion efforts & achievements of the European telecentre community. The Awards will recognize Telecentre-Europe’s three Most Outstanding Members, who will be honored at the Awards Ceremony during the Telecentre-Europe Summit 2012, taking place on October 17th in Warsaw, Poland. The Award Winners will receive a prize that contains following  cash awards:

  1. Frist Prize (Gold): 1.200 EUR
  2. Second Prize (Silver): 1.000 EUR
  3. Third Prize (Bronze): 800 EUR

Get Online Week 2012: PH International of Russia wins the report contest!

During the month of April, Telecentre-Europe launched a contest among the national partners of Get Online Week 2012 for the best report of the organized activities. PH International of Russia came out as the absolute winner and wins the award of 2000€, followed by the partners in Latvia & Lithuania on equal footing and by another ex aequo of Germany & Moldova. Congratulations to the winner, and to all the national partners that submitted reports!

Participants could win numerous points by entering different elements (a general report, success stories, photos, videos and a media coverage report).

Ester Collado receives award as Most Outstanding Telecentre Woman Manager in Europe

At the Regional Telecentre Network Leaders Meeting that took place from March 5-7 in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain), head of the Omnia Point of La Seu d’Urgell (Catalonia, Spain), Ester Collado, was formally presented with her award for the Most Outstanding Telecentre Woman Manager for the Europe region by Telecentre.org Foundation (TCF)

Sara Mora Tormo wins MyTelecentre@Work Photo Essay Contest for Europe

Sara Mora Tormo from Gavarda Telecentre (Valencia, Spain) has sent in Europe’s winning album of Telecentre.org’s MyTelecentre@Work Photo Essay Contest.

She wins a goody bag full of gifts and you can now send a holiday e-card made from one of her pictures. Through her album – as stated by the judges – she best explained why the Gavarda Telecentre is making a difference in this world:

“The selected pictures explain a step-by-step strategy to obtain results for one of the biggest challenges Telecentre operators are dealing with daily: how to motivate people unwilling to engage and without any computer skills for taking up a basic course in computing and the internet?”

Europe’s Most Outstanding Telecentre Woman: Ester Collado (Spain)

After first being enlisted among the 10 European women of the Top 100 of Global Outstanding Telecentre Women Managers, Ester Collado has been elected, both through public voting and judge rating, as Europe’s Most Outstanding Telecentre Woman Manager.

Her title will be presented with a plaque of recognition, and she will receive a brand-new netbook for use in her work. In addition, she will be awarded an all-expense paid trip to attend the Recognition Ceremony to be held in a regional telecentre network event (specific place and date to be determined per region).

As 8 out of the 10 European women enlisted in the Top 100 are Spanish, the Spanish Telecentre Network Community Association has sent out an official statement in which it thanks the Telecentre.org Foundation for the recognition and rewarding of the efforts of the Spanish Telecentres (and of the Telecentre Network of Catalonia in particular) as a reference in the use of ICT for access to employment, support for social entrepreneurs, SME’s and digital inclusion.

Public voting for Europe’s Most Outstanding female Telecentre Manager

Telecentre-Europe has nominated 10 European women that are now enlisted among the Top 100 Global Outstanding Telecentre Women Managers.

Through public voting and judge rating, one of these women can now become the “Most Outstanding Telecentre Women Manager” for Europe and receive a brand-new netbook.

Public voting is open until November 30th!
