Civitas Foundation for Civil Society

Civitas Foundation was founded in October 1992 to enhance local government capacity and
to stimulate citizens involvement in decision making and local govern-ance.

In order to fulfill the mission we have set the following objectives:

to develop and implement local and regional develop-ment programs,
to develop relationships between local government and the public, to support local initiatives,
to organize specialized consulting in various fields for local governments,
to organize training courses for local public officials, both elected and appointed,
to support the establishment and functioning of non-governmental organizations.

The foundation, through projects, contributes to the
development of rural areas, human resources, civic society and LPAs capacity.
