Who we serve
We estimate that the European region contains more than 100,000 telecentres. These telecentres employ well in excess of 250,000 staff and at least a further 100,000 volunteers. Averaged usage figures indicate that these telecentres will work directly with at least 25 million digitally excluded citizens per year across the European region. Clearly, telecentres are a significant asset to affect e-Inclusion. The people that staff and support these organizations share common interests and have come together to share learning to accomplish the greatest impact possible.
Currently there are almost 300 individual members of the Telecentres-Europe online community, from around 80 organisations in 53 nations, from every continental area across the world. The 33 European nations are represented on the Telecentre-Europe online community by around 50 local, regional and national telecentre networks, which between them include more than 25,000 telecentres.
Telecentre-Europe aims at improving the capacities of telecentres throughout Europe. This increases the effectiveness of telecentres to provide citizens expertise in digital technologies, thus improving their opportunities to access to and/or success at the labour market.
