Steering Committee setting-up network progress

Telecentre-Europe Steering Committee members met in Amsterdam during 28-29 May to discuss and agree on next steps and further development of the network considering the actual European context of eInclusion.

Amongst themes like funding resources, internal administration and promoting telecentres across various European eInclusion stakeholders, there were two main challenges addressed by the meeting: Telecentre-Europe legal entity and the Telecentre-Europe Summit 2010.

Related to the first issue it was agreed that legal entity for the network is crucial for further development, and thus we will focus on finalising the process in the following months. Soon, we will provide more information to member organizations that already signed the Memorandum of Understanding during the Telecentre-Europe Summit 2009, and invite new members to join.

The Telecentre-Europe Summit 2010 represents an excellent opportunity for the network members and stakeholders to meet again and work together to increase the impact of European telecentres.

As an initial setting, the 3rd Telecentre-Europe Summit will take place in mid-October, in Budapest, Hungary. Details will be confirmed by the end of June.
